Our Technology

Here at Sanctum we offer the latest in technology to bring our clients the best possible results.  Below are some of the technologies and equipment available to our trained doctors and staff.

Thermage is like Pilates for the skin. It tones and tightens the skin on your face and body to give you a more youthful appearance. Thermage uses patented skin tightening technology to give your collagen a workout, stimulating existing collagen and promoting new collagen growth.

It’s a non-invasive radiofrequency therapy that can address the look and feel of aging skin. Thermage treatments are customized to your needs, and typically require minimal recovery time. It’s a great solution if you want your skin to look sleeker, smoother and younger, but can't afford a lot of time away from work or your social life.

Dual Yellow Laser

Featuring optimum yellow and green light for fast, precise, targeted treatments, Dual Yellow delivers great control and better outcomes with reduced skin damage and discomfort.

• IMMEDIATE improvement in appearance after treatment.
• OPTIMAL for treating vascular lesions, vessels are coagulated and immediately disappear.
• SINGLE treatment results for telangiectasia at 578nm.
• ACNE is treated easily and effective using 578nm, as the light is absorbed by endogenous porphyrins and destroying the P.Acnes bacteria by PDT action.
• MELASMA is treated by removal of vessels reducing the growth factor thus reducing the productive melanocytes.
• BULKY lesions are treated using 611 & 578nm wavelengths for a single treatment.
• BLOODLESS lesion removal & no purpura response.

The Dual Yellow™ laser uses the most advanced laser technology to provide a complete skin rejuvenation treatment. Using yellow and green light that targets particular skin problems, the Dual Yellow™ laser is able to treat wrinkles, sun damage, pigmentation, liver spots, facial capillaries, acne, open pores, stretch marks, scars, rosacea, moles and skin tags. Many skin problems can show dramatic improvement after just one treatment.

The Dual Yellow™ laser is known as a non-ablative laser treatment: it does not burn away any skin and does not affect the normal skin outside the targeted area being treated. This results in minimal side effects and a quick recovery time.

All areas of the face, neck, hands and body can be treated with the Dual Yellow™ laser.

How does laser treatment work?

Laser therapy works on the principle of light absorption and uses a combination of yellow and green light that targets tissue. In this way, a laser can be programmed to emit light in the specific wavelength that is best absorbed by blood to remove facial capillaries or it can be programmed to emit the wavelengths best absorbed by melanin to remove pigmentation. Because these wavelengths are so targeted to the problem areas, the surrounding tissue does not absorb the light and is not affected.

As well as targeting these problem areas, laser therapy stimulates the skin to produce new collagen. This has an overall tightening, firming and rejuvenating effect on skin.

What are the benefits of using the Dual Yellow™ laser?

The Dual Yellow™ laser provides the option of yellow or green light, which can be selected by the therapist to target specific skin problems. This is different from other light-based treatments such as IPL (intense pulse light), which provide broad-based rejuvenation but do not target specific problems.

When treating acne, the Dual Yellow™ light specifically targets and destroys protoporphorian IX, a chemical released by the bacteria that cause acne. The yellow light wavelength also helps to reduce red skin colour, helping to calm the appearance of inflamed acne lesions.

The Dual Yellow™ also uses FEM: fast edge micropulse technology. This technology produces a train of thousands of pulses per second of powerful yellow laser light. These pulses of light stimulate collagen production and new skin growth.

The specially designed contact handpiece on the Dual Yellow™ laser minimises pain and the treatment does not produce any bruising.

What skin problems can be helped?

The Dual Yellow™ laser can be used to target the source of most skin problems that are associated with aging and sun damage, greatly improving the skin’s appearance. These problems include:
• Capillaries and dilated blood vessels
• Sun spots
• Age spots
• Pigmentation
• Uneven skin tone
• Blotchy skin
• Wrinkles
• Moles
• Skin tags

The Dual Yellow™ can also be used to treat or improve the appearance of:
• Acne
• Acne scars
• General scars
• Stretch marks
• Open pores
• Enlarged oil glands
