Ella’s Bridal Beauty: A 12-Month Wedding Skincare Plan with Sanctum Medical

Ella’s Bridal Beauty: A 12-Month Wedding Skincare Plan with Sanctum Medical

Since my engagement in Europe almost two years ago life has been one huge rollercoaster. My recent experience on Channel 7’s TV Series House Rules in 2017 was one of the most challenging and enjoyable things I have ever done. Since returning home to normal life – working as a Paramedic in Hobart, running my home décor business CC&C with my sister and growing my brand ‘Sean & Ella’ with my fiancé Sean life hasn’t slowed down.

I am now also finally starting to plan my wedding! Planning a wedding is so exciting, but at times is also a little overwhelming to say the least. I have a strong love for styling and design so I am really looking forward to creating our special day. Having said that there is sooooo much to consider when planning a wedding and it certainly isn’t always going to be easy and stress free.
We all know that each and every bride wants luminous, glowing perfect skin on their wedding day, but this doesn’t just happen overnight, like anything in life it requires a little bit of love and attention. With this in mind I have teamed up with Sanctum Medical to start a 12 Month Skincare Wedding Plan to ensure that I have my bridal beauty covered.

I am often asked how I take care of my skin, what products I use and what I am doing to prepare skin for my wedding day, so I have decided to share with you my Wedding Skincare Plan, so that you can follow my journey and see the results of ‘fingers crossed’ skin that looks and feels positively radiant on my wedding day.

Initial consultation:
12 months ahead of wedding

Designing my personalised 12-Month Wedding Skincare Plan was a very relaxed and easy process. I met with Dr Clair McCartney at Sanctum Medical for an initial consultation. During this consultation we discussed my wedding plans, my beauty and skincare concerns and what I would like to achieve in a 12 month period of skincare treatment with Sanctum Medical. Dr Clair knew exactly what I required, as she too has just planned her own wedding. It was so great to sit down and discuss my beauty and skin concerns with someone who understands what a bride-to-be requires. She understands what it is like to want to look and feel your very best on your big day.

Sanctum’s wedding skincare treatment plans are completely personalised to ensure your biggest skincare concerns are addressed and your feeling the best version of yourself on the day. There is the option of choosing 12 month, 6 month or 3 to 1 month treatment plans, the Sanctum team can work to any budget or time frame. The cost of an initial wedding consultation is $150, and this is entirely redeemable in product – which means that you will not only walk away with a customised skincare and treatment plan leading up to your big day, but also receive some beautiful new skincare products.

The 12 month Skincare Plan

My daily skincare routine – Everyday

Starting with the basics is really important – making sure your daily skin routine is well established to give you a good base

to work with is a paramount. I must admit I do already have a pretty good skincare routine. I moisturise and cleanse every day and I apply an SPF15 with my moisturiser everyday. However with this harsh Tassie sun the team at Sanctum have recommended upping this to an SPF 30-50 every day.

Serums – Everyday

Serums are like a wellness shot for the skin. They’re packed with potent anti-aging ingredients like retinol and vitamin C, and blended with non-oil based agents, which is what makes formulas moisturising. I do suffer from dry skin at times, especially when working long night shift and sometimes not keeping up my hydration as well as I probably should, so a serum is a really important product to introduce into my skincare regime. The Sanctum team have recommended using a Niacinamide every morning to ensure my skin is staying well nourished and hydrated.

Improve skin tone/texture & reducing fine lines/wrinkles – 10 months ahead of my wedding

PRP – Platelet Rich Plasma is revolutionary injectable treatment, designed to rejuvenate and regenerate your skin. Made famous by celebs such as Kimmy K PRP therapy, is unique to other skin treatments, as it uses your own blood to harvest concentrated plasma, which is rich in platelets. When injected, these rich platelets release powerful growth factors and natural stem cells that are specifically designed to significantly stimulate regeneration and restructure of the skin tissue. The Sanctum team have recommended I have a course of 3 treatments to my face and décolletage, 6 weeks apart, at approximately 10 months before my wedding day. I am very excited to start this treatment and cannot wait to see the results.

Reducing redness and the appearance of freckles with laser treatment – 6 to 8 months ahead of my wedding

I do have some concerns regarding redness on my cheeks/under my eyes. I feel at times this redness under my eyes can create the appearance of bags, making me look very tired. Redness in cheeks is often caused by broken capillaries, which appear as small red vessels just below the skins surface. These capillaries won’t disappear on their own, but can easily be treated. To address my concerns of redness under my eyes and on my cheeks, Dr Clair has recommended a laser treatment. I will have 2 laser treatments on my face, with the laser system known as the Vbeam to reduce this redness approximately 6 – 8 months prior to the wedding.

I also have some concerns regarding some freckles on my chest/ décolletage. I must confess these have developed from a little too much sun exposure in the past. I would really love to see the appearance of these freckles reduced to allow my skin to feel clear and fresh in my wedding dress on my big day. Dr Clair has also recommended treatment of these with the Limelight laser on my chest/décolletage.

Facials & Microdermabrasions – throughout the 12 months as required

I have already had a few facials and microdermabrasions at Sanctum Medical over the last year and will hopefully be able to find the time to fit in a few more amongst all the planning & organising. Taking time to relax and look after myself over the next 12 months is really important and what better way to relax than with a facial. My favorite is Sanctum’s brand new ‘The Hamptons’ facial, designed to improve skin texture, tone & hydration through the use of microdermabrasion, a chemical peel and vitamin and antioxidant therapy. Excellent for reducing sun damage, acne & pigmentation.

Smoothing fine lines & contouring/shaping with dermal fillers and injectable anti-wrinkle treatments – 3 months ahead of the wedding

It is important to look and feel refreshed on your wedding day and the team at Sanctum can assist in restoring volume and shaping your face using dermal fillers. Dermal fillers contain hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring product in your skin, that when injected appropriately restore volume & lift. Dermal filler is a very popular enhancement used by brides to define their cheekbones and facial contours and to create volume and shape to the lips. Dr Clair recommends receiving these subtle enhancements approximately 3 mths ahead of your big day.

Anti-wrinkle injections help to minimise fine lines and wrinkles created over time through relaxing the muscles causing these lines. It not only reverses existing lines, but regular maintenance treatments can also prevent further wrinkles from developing. Planning a wedding can be very stressful at times, and in order for my skin to remain smooth and wrinkle free, the Sanctum team have recommended 4-monthly treatments leading up to the big day. Sanctum Medical’s ethos is about creating a natural look in all their patients. The purpose of these regular appointments is to subtly smooth out the few fine lines, which have started to appear in certain areas of the face.
